Normally, hearing that someone is drunk leads to negative conclusions or consequences. However, the 1912 sinking of the famed Titanic in the icy waters of the North Atlantic Sea proved the occasional benefits of excessive inebriation.
Before we hit the sauce, let’s get to know our hero, Charles Joughlin, who was the head baker aboard the Titanic. He was forced to grow up fast, as his father passed away when he was eight years old. Somewhere between 11 and 13 years old, Joughlin began his career on the sea.
