What Lafayette County School District administrators expected to be the first step toward constructing a new school campus instead became an announcement of another year of waiting.
During the district’s school board meeting on Tuesday, June 16, Superintendent Robbie Edwards and project consultant Eddie Dixon with Culpepper Construction informed board members the district will not receive first-year Special Facilities funding during the current state budget cycle despite being ranked first in line for consideration. However, although construction has been pushed back, Edwards said the district’s plans for the project remain unchanged.
