With the summer vacation season now in full swing, the Florida Department of Health reminds everyone to help make this summer a safe and successful one. Although the Fourth of July is behind us, there is still a lot of summertime fun to be had. Here are some tips to help make it safe.
Heat and sun safety:
• Be aware of the signs of a heat-related illness. This can include headaches, dizziness, weakness, lightheadedness, irritability, confusion, an upset stomach or vomiting. Heat exhaustion can lead to heat stroke - the most serious form of heat injury. If a person is heated and stops sweating, seek medical help immediately.
