A growing social media trend involving microwaving NeeDoh and other gel-filled squishy toys is raising serious safety concerns after children across the country have suffered painful burns and injuries.
The trend encourages kids to place the popular stress-relief toys in the microwave before squeezing or cutting them open. While many children may see this as harmless fun, the heated gel inside can become extremely dangerous. Once overheated, the contents can explode or spray out, causing burns to the skin, face and eyes.
