On Saturday, Oct. 8, the Pregnancy Care Center hosted its annual 5k Run/Walk 4 Life. This event allowed people of all ages to actively demonstrate their support for the value of human life and their desire to make a difference. Walkers and runners of all ages and abilities enjoyed the 3.1-mile walk/run in Live Oak and Lake City locations. There were timed options for runners, while serious and leisurely walkers were welcome to walk at their own pace. The community’s participation in the event benefits local women and families by offering free pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, peer counseling and educational/material services.
The Pregnancy Care Center annually grants a trophy to the church that provides the greatest financial support during the Walk-4-Life. The church will retain the trophy until the next Walk-4-Life. This year, Corinth Baptist Church of Jasper was Walk-4-Life’s biggest supporting church. On Thursday, Dec. 1, Live Oak Center Manager Joyce Fullbright presented the trophy to Corinth Ambassador Gayle Trinder.
