Greater Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church (702 1st St. N.W., Jasper) invites the community to join its congregation in its Founders’ celebrations. This year’s theme is “Honoring the Foundation, Celebrating the Faithful,” and the clothing color is black with diamond accessories. The celebration will begin with guest preacher Reverend Ronnie B. Brinson, Jr., who will deliver a special message from 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, through Thursday, March 5. Founders’ Day will then be celebrated on Sunday, March 8, with guest preacher Reverend Warren R. Johnson, Jr., leading the morning’s service, beginning at 11 a.m.

The community is invited to celebrate Biggins, the Doggie Dude Ranch’s “miracle baby,” as he turns one year old from noon to 2 p.m. at the Drop Your Reins Equestrian Center (16516 C.R. 136 W., Live Oak). The family-friendly event will include a bounce house, kids' activities and a “kissing booth” with Biggins. The 17th Annual Stomp the Swamp for Autism Acceptance and Awareness event will take place at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium (157 Gale Lemerand Dr., Gainesville). The event aims to raise funds and awareness to support individuals with autism and their families. Proceeds from the event will help provide child safety materials and information, employment training for young adults, and social learning programs for children and teens with autism and related disabilities. Mayo Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Third District Community Center (3373 U.S. 27, Mayo). Beginners’ meetings are held on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. Open discussion takes place at 10 a.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. “Big Book Study” takes place on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. For more information, call 386-867-5953.

"You want to drink? That's your business. You want to stop? That's our business." Join Live Oak's Alcoholics Anonymous group to discover a new way of life. Regular Live Oak AA meetings are held each week at 7 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays. Men-only meetings are held each Sunday at 8 a.m. and are followed by women-only meetings at 4 p.m. The group also holds Al-Anon and AlaTeen meetings every Sunday at 2 p.m., which are open to friends and family of all ages. Each session will be held in the building next to the Suwannee County Health Department (911 Nobles Ferry Rd., Live Oak).
Wednesdays and Thursdays
Let TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) help you with your weight management goals. TOPS is a weight-loss support group with two chapters that meet weekly in Live Oak. The Wednesday chapter meets at 9:15 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church (9989 C.R. 136). The Thursday chapter meets at 9 a.m. at First Advent Christian Church (699 Pinewood Dr. S.W.).
