Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities. “A Matter of Balance” is an award-winning program designed to manae falls and increase activity levels. This free eight-week program, hosted by the UF/IFAS Suwannee Extension, emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls. Participants learn to view falls as controllable, set goals for increasing activity, make changes to reduce fall risks, and exercise to increase strength and balance. Each class runs from 10 a.m. to noon and meets each Wednesday. Space is limited to 12 people. To register or learn more information, contact Sandra Wainwright at (386) 362-2771.
