The City of Live Oak and the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Science (UF/IFAS) are set to celebrate Florida City Week, one of many cities throughout the state participating in the festivities. The annual event provides communities with an opportunity to celebrate what makes Florida cities great. It also allows individuals the chance to see how the government works to enhance the quality of life.
Live Oak Mayor Frank Davis said this is the first time the city has participated in Florida City Week, which began on Monday, Oct. 20, with a joint Live Oak City Council/Suwannee County Board of County Commissioners luncheon.
