Celebrating 100 years of W.B. Howland’s

Jason Futch Reporter2@riverbendnews.org Centuries ago, John Howland traveled on the Mayflower from Plymouth, England, to the “New World.” En route, John, who was in the materials supply business in England, risked his life during the voyage when a turbulent storm struck. He fell overboard during the storm but managed to grab a topsail halyard trailing in the water and was hauled back aboard safely.  He survived the voyage, beginning the story of Howland’s America.
