Carolyn B. Bishop, 74, of Alapaha, Ga., died on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, at her residence.
She was born on Feb. 5, 1951, in Orlando, Fla., to the late James Roscoe Brown and the late Betty Eloise Haas. She was a homemaker and was a member of Nashville Methodist Church. In her own words, she was the wife of the best United Methodist Preacher in the South Georgia Annual Conference, loved her family, graduated from Valdosta High School Class of 1969, and most of all, a child of the "King." She is the widow of Rev. Henry Dwight Bishop who died in 2024 and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Michelle Bishop Todd.
She is survived by a daughter, Nicole Bishop of Middleburg, Fla.; son, Hank Bishop, of Nashville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Sebastian (Michaela) Todd of Robbinsville, N.C., and Cathryn (Zachary) Lowe of Aberdeen, N.C.; seven great-grandchildren, Hayleigh, Grace, Brentley, Calliope, Amelia, Emersen and Arizona; and sister, Betty Renee Collin of Abilene, Texas.
Funeral Services were held on Monday March 3, at 11 a.m. in the Nashville Methodist Church with Rev. Don Adams, Rev. Joseph Carter and Rev. Buddy Cooper officiating. Interment followed in the Willacoochee City Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service in the church.
