“There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it” (Ecclesiastes 8:8 KJV).
Death is a reality. We all know we can’t beat death— “The living know that they shall die” (Ecclesiastes 9:5).
We’re all at war with death. Our arsenal against death is rows upon rows of medicines, vitamins, gym membership, herbs and potions. But regardless of all we do to push death back, we eventually come face to face with it and feel its cold embrace.
