On Thursday, March 28, the Suwannee High School baseball team hosted the Columbia Tigers in a rivalry matchup. Tensions were high throughout the stands as the Bulldogs found themselves in a showdown against their cross-county rivals. The first inning did not go well for the Bulldogs, as the Tigers snuck one run across home plate. Then, from the second inning until the fifth inning, not a point was scored as the two teams went back and forth around the diamond. The sixth inning spelled more pain for the Bulldogs as the Tigers were able to get another run on the scoreboard. The seventh inning was the final straw, as the Tigers scored another three runs, claiming the win 5-0 over the Bulldogs.
Patrick Williams, Jace Moran and Hunter Watson were all stand out defensive players, each one completing four outs. Logan Brooks followed with three, and Kyler Watson, Koy Frier and Dillon Greene all completed two. On Thursday, April 4, the Bulldogs will host the Wakulla War Eagles, where they will look for redemption from their last game against the Eagles.
