The Suwannee High School volleyball teams went on the road to Madison on Monday, Sept. 18, to face the Cowgirls. The evening was dominated by the Bulldogs as they won both matches in straight sets.
The evening began with the junior varsity teams taking the court. The first set was highly competitive, with the lead changing from one team to the other and neither team establishing clear dominance. The first set ended with the teams going to extra points and the Bulldogs emerging on top, 26-24. The second set was another close set, but in the end, it was the Bulldogs who emerged triumphant, 25-19, to take the match, 2-0.
In the varsity match, the Bulldogs took control early and the Cowgirls found themselves attempting to catch up for much of the contest. The Bulldogs took the first two sets with 25-13 scores in each set. Early in the second set, the Bulldogs built a 10-1 lead before the Cowgirls began to climb their way back into the competition. The final set of the match was much more competitive, with the Cowgirls taking the lead on two occasions. The third set ended with the Bulldogs taking the set with a 25-18 score, and the overall match, 3-0.
The Bulldogs were back on their home court on Monday, Sept. 25, when they face the Bradford High School Tornadoes.
