On Thursday, Jan. 16, the Branford High School soccer teams had a significant day as they faced their cross-county rivals, the Lafayette High School Hornets. The games closely mirrored each other, but the Buccaneer boys managed to secure the victory with a score of 3-2. The girls' team, however, ended their match in a hard-fought tie at 3-3. In addition to the games, a key highlight was honoring the seniors who had dedicated their time to the teams. The boys' senior players include Tolby Terry, Logan Horn, Dylan Layman, Zander Hegenauer and Ricardo Sandoval. For the girls' team, the seniors are Ashlyn Blalock, Ashley Morales, Savannah Creech and Zoe Nahabetian. Each senior had the opportunity to express their gratitude and share their plans for the future.
