Branford native wins third

Branford native Steven Danaher has just become a three-time National World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) Kickboxing Champion. WAKO is the only U.S. organization in the sport of kickboxing to have recognition from the International Olvmpic Committee (IOC) and the Affiliate Organizations Council (AOC).
As WAKO continues to grow the sport in the United States, the organization will serve as the gateway to the Olympics. The 2026 WAKO National Championships took place in Colorado Springs, Colo., from Thursday, March 26, through Sunday, March 29, where athletes competed tournament-style over a three-day period, and Danaher captured his third gold
