Branford Buccaneers play for their first-ever softball State Championship

Lee Trawick  [email protected]  The Branford High School varsity softball team advanced through the FHSAA Class 1A playoffs to the State Championship series following their 2-0 win over the Aucilla Christian Warriors on Tuesday, May 16. The Buccaneers (23-4) traveled down to the State Championship as the number one overall seed, and would face off against the Jay Royals (16-11) in the Final Four matchup on Monday, May 22, at Legends Way Fields in Clermont, Fla.  In a pitcher's duel, the Buccaneers came out on top.
