A Mayo man who was arrested last year on multiple homicide charges was found guilty on four counts of second-degree murder and sentenced to 50 years in prison.
On Tuesday, March 4, 42-year-old Kenton Anthony Blake was convicted of the March 14, 2024, triple homicide that took place in Mayo. At the time of the incident, three individuals, a man and two women, were found dead inside a home. Shortly after, a second man was also located that was injured in a separate house. Blake was also charged with one count of killing an unborn child due to injury or death of the mother.
Though the identification of the victims has been protected due to Marsy’s Law, Lafayette County Sheriff Brian Lamb confirmed at the time of the murders that Blake was related to the victims of the crime.
Blake was offered a guilty plea in exchange for 50 years in prison, to run concurrently, plus lifetime supervision with the Florida Department of Corrections upon his release. Blake would be 92 years old upon his release.
Blake was also ordered not to have contact with the surviving victim while in prison or upon release. He is currently housed at the Columbia County Jail in Lake City, where he has been since the case began, while he awaits transportation to a state prison facility.
