Beware of hurricane cleanup scams

The Big Bend region of Florida has seen more than enough hurricanes in recent years. There were no major storms last year, but in 2024, Helene caused 18 deaths in Florida and over $78.7 billion in damages across the country. Although this is a time for the community to come together to help one another, people from larger cities will often travel to areas affected by hurricanes.
Although some of them may be genuine people wanting to assist with cleaning up yards, towns and the roads, several scams have been reported in recent years regarding hurricane cleanup.
