SUWANNEE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL
Suwannee: Boys Baseball ended their regular season with a 17-6 record overall and a 1-0 record in their district. On Tuesday, April 17, 2025, #1 Suwannee (1-0) defeated #3 Paxon School For Advanced Studies (1-2) by a score of 10-0 in five innings to become the 3A District 3 Champions!
#3 Suwannee lost to #1 South Walton in Santa Rosa Beach on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, ending the Bulldogs' journey in the FHSAA State Championship playoffs. The Bulldogs shook the #1 team in the state (South Walton) to their core with stellar pitching and solid defense in both games. With each D1 commit pitcher that the Bulldogs faced, they continued to get better. The only thing worse than a game decided by an official is not playing to your potential. Suwannee's athletes never backed down and played fantastic baseball! Next year should prove to be even more exciting, with only a few seniors graduating this year.

Game 1: Monday, April 21, 2025 -- #3 Suwannee defeated #6 Baldwin by a score of 9-4.
Game 2: Tuesday, April 22, 2025 -- #3 Suwannee lost to #6 Baldwin by a score of 8-2.
Game 3: Thursday, April 24, 2025, -- #3 Suwannee defeated #6 Baldwin in Baldwin by a score of 6-5 to continue in the hunt for a state championship. Suwannee's #8 N. Lopez went two for five at the plate with a double and two RBIs.
Game 3: It was an exciting game, with every inning keeping fans on the edge of their seats in anticipation of who would score next. Baldwin allowed Suwannee to jump to a 3-0 lead in the first two innings. Baldwin's bats owned the third and fourth innings, as they collected five runs. With the score 5-3 going into the fifth inning, Suwannee rallied to tie it up 5-5. With runners on first and third, Suwannee sent the first base runner out halfway to second, drawing the pitcher's attention, while the runner on third ran home to score, giving Suwannee the lead 6-5. Both Suwannee and Baldwin held each other scoreless for the last two innings, giving fans a nail-biting ending.

Branford softball state championship history. In 2024, with five seniors, Trenton defeated Branford by a score of 6-5 in eight innings. In 2023, Branford faced Liberty in the finals, only to lose by a score of 7-4 to a more mature Liberty team with five seniors.
