My family has been a part of North Central Florida for over 200 years. In comparison to some of the eastern seaboard or the United Kingdom and Europe, a short time, but for Florida, especially that settled after 1821 when the state became an American territory, a fairly long time. Food preparation and the types of food eaten by individuals define a culture as much as anything.
