Additional LHS student arrested for bringing gun to school

By Cheltsie Holbrook Riverbend News On Tuesday, Oct. 6, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a third Lafayette High School (LHS) student who was arrested for bringing a gun onto school grounds. On Monday, Oct. 5, LHS staff received a tip that a student had a weapon on the school's campus. School personnel and the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office Resource Deputy followed policy and quickly implemented a lockdown of the LHS campus.  The student in question was immediately isolated and a magazine with ammunition was recovered. During the investigation, it was learned another student was also in possession of a firearm. That student was isolated and
