A short history of Veterans Day

One of the most important days for the entire world, and especially the United States, was June 28, 1919. That was the day the Treaty of Versailles was signed, marking the official end of World War I. However, seven months before that date, the fighting really stopped. The Allied nations and Germany agreed to an armistice, or a temporary cessation of hostilities. On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month (Nov. 11, 1918) both, sides put their guns down and the war ended.
