The Live Oak Police Department (LOPD) and the Suwannee County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) are still searching for 36-year-old Kelley Brannon, who was last seen on Tuesday, July 14 with her boyfriend, Eddie Emerson, at the Sunshine Inn, located at 827 Howard Street in Live Oak.
According to Emerson, he and Brannon were on a road trip from Micanopy, Fla., to Detroit, Mich., to buy an inexpensive house to fix up, when their vehicle broke down. Emerson said they were able to make it to the Sunshine Inn, where they planned to stay while their vehicle was being repaired. However, on the night of July 14, the two had gotten into a dispute. Emerson said he last saw Brannon drinking and crying outside of their room around 11:30 p.m. He said he took her car keys and went back into their motel room, where Brannon then began exchanging heated texts with Emerson, who fell asleep in the middle of their argument.
Around 1 a.m., Brannon reportedly left Emerson a voicemail telling him she was getting into a car. Emerson stated that from the voicemail, it sounded as if voices were in the background. It is believed that she may have left in an unknown make and model silver four-door sedan. The voicemail is the last known communication between Brannon and Emerson. Emerson reported her missing the next morning. After she was reported missing, LOPD was able to obtain her phone records, where it was found that her phone pinged around 4:53 a.m. in the area of Live Oak's Farm Bureau.
Brannon did not take her purse or her phone charger with her. She also has not reached out to any friends or family, which is out of character for her. It has been reported that she was seen in Lake Park, Ga., on July 21, as well as in Camilla, Ga., between July 24 and July 28. Although, none of those appearances have been confirmed.
LOPD Captain Jason Roundtree has noted that the primary person of interest is Emerson, as the relationship between him and Brannon has proved to be toxic and history in their relationship has played a factor in their examination of him. There are other persons of interest who were staying at the motel, but none of them stand out.
Anyone with information regarding Brannon and her whereabouts is urged to call the LOPD Investigations Division at (386) 364-7464 or call the SCSO dispatch at (386) 362-2222. Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact Suwannee County Crime Stoppers at (386) 208-TIPS.
