On Saturday, Dec. 14, the women of Community Presbyterian Church (CPC) gathered in their fellowship hall to put together Christmas support baskets. The baskets mainly consisted of food, fruit puddings, cookies, hot chocolate and tea. The nine women spent two hours of their morning working hard to prepare a total of 11 baskets. The baskets would all be sent to local people who are shut in and have difficulty leaving the house or even opening the windows. Each person was selected for different reasons, all of which put the individual in a difficult position to even attempt to leave their homes. All of the preparations were because of the love the church has for the community and the less fortunate as Jesus commanded, especially during the Christmas season, a time to be selfless and grateful and to remember the birth of Jesus Christ.
