Sean Herndon was born in Valdosta, Ga., in 1988. He spent most of his early childhood in Day Town, attending the Lafayette County School District. At 8, years old, his family moved to Dowling Park; however, he continued attending Lafayette schools, graduating from Lafayette High School. After high school, Herndon made his way to Winter Park to attend Full Sail University for Computer Animation. However, he eventually made his way to North Florida College, where he graduated with his Associate's degree. Herndon first saw Riverbend News on his mother’s table, and thought to himself how interesting it would be to work for a newspaper. A few weeks went by, and Herndon made a trip to the dentist. To his surprise, Lucy Golub, Riverbend’s ad designer, was also at the dentist’s office. He overheard her introduce herself to the clerk and saw his opportunity. He asked Golub about working for the paper, and she encouraged him to come by the office and apply, so he did, and the rest, as they say, is history. Before working for the paper, Herndon spent time working at the old hardware store in Dowling Park throughout high school. After higher education, he found his way to FRUCON/WG Yates at Buckeye/Georgia Pacific. He would spend 13 years working there before making a switch. In his free time, Herndon enjoys a plethora of things: books, games, TV shows and movies. He has a couple of different books that he considers top tier. They include “The Dresden Files,” “The Bobiverse,” “The Expanse,” “Mistborn,” “American Gods,” “Lord of the Rings,” “Dune,” “Snowcrash” and older “Star Wars” books. When asked what his favorite memory was, Herndon said, “There are many – but most of them are from my 20s with my friends and family. My cousins Matt and Wyatt, and my friends Jacob, Rueal, Chad, Cody, Freddy and Wren, Caleah, Ivonne and many more. I’ve been blessed with a lot of friends and memories through the years, and fortune still favors me with my new friends at Riverbend News.”
