90 years in bloom; Live Oak Garden Club celebrates anniversary

Lucille Heinrich Contributor At its May meeting, the Live Oak Garden Club kicked off the celebration of its 90th anniversary with a presentation from member Gwyn Herrington. Herrington joined the club in 1988 and served as its president from 1999 to 2001. During the anniversary celebration, she took members and guests down memory lane as she recounted the club's history and accomplishments over the past 90 years. Herrington was especially proud of the Blue Star Memorial in Veterans Park, which was donated and installed by the club. She then introduced all past presidents who were in attendance.
