The swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected Board of County Commissioner members occurred on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at the Hamilton County Courthouse, located at 207 1st Street NW in Jasper. County Judge Sonny Scaff performed the swearing-in ceremony at 5 p.m., officially inducting Richie McCoy as the District 5 County Commissioner, Jimmy Murphy as the District 1 County Commissioner and Robert Brown as District 3 County Commissioner. Friends and family of the new commissioners showed up to support their loved ones, congratulating each new commissioner with a round of applause as they were officially sworn-in.
