Hornets sting Cowboys

Rick Patrick reporter3.riverbendnews@gmail.com On Tuesday, April 2, the Lafayette High School Hornets' junior varsity and varsity baseball teams traveled to Madison County High School to take on the Cowboys. The Hornets were able to emerge victorious in both contests. In the first game of the afternoon, the junior varsity Hornets overcame a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Cowboys, 3-2. Then, in the varsity contest, the Hornets took a 6-0 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning, when the Cowboys cut into their lead with two runs. The Hornets added an insurance run in the top half of the seventh inning before holding off a late, two-run Cowboy rally that came up short. The Hornets managed to win
