Shane Mathews is the newest addition to the Riverbend News team. Mathews came on board as the graphic designer who designs the paper that the communities read every Wednesday.
Mathews was born in Englewood, Co., but was raised in South Florida. Mathews has always been in the arts. From receiving his first land camera at the age of 10, to shooting his first wedding at the age of 13, he has continually moved on to bigger and better things. At the age of 16, Mathews obtained a professional job in a glamour photography studio. Along the way, while meeting people and making new contacts, Mathews went on to working as an assistant in cinema photography in movies and music videos through the early 90s.
Mathews moved on to work as a darkroom photographer where he spent most of his days in a darkroom studio for an advertising agency. Within the same advertising agency, he found a passion for graphic design. Later, Mathews decided to get back into photography. After obtaining his first digital camera, Mathews has used his skills of photography and graphic design to create and bring to life beautiful images and designs for everyone he has met along the way. Today, Mathews operates a photography and freelance business working in graphic design, web designing, digital engineering and advertising in all personal and professional media no matter how small or big the project may be.
Mathews moved to Suwannee County in 2018 with his wife, Erica Mathews and their twins, Isabella and Carson. A few short months ago, the Mathews family grew when they adopted a daughter, Hadley and a son, Bentley. Hadley and Bentley have been a part of the family for two years through fostering, but now have the official family name of Mathews.
