Why would you want to move in the middle of experiencing a life altering accident or illness? Most people wouldn’t. If you polled those around you, people would tell you they want to stay in their home. The good news is staying in an existing home can help people keep their social connection and support their independence.
So, as we go along this journey called life, things like chronic diseases, illnesses and accidents can affect our ability to stay in our homes both temporarily and permanently. If we can look at prevention-oriented strategies, such as reducing falls (one of the most preventable injuries) and home modifications, we can create a healthy home
