Live Oak City Council votes 3-2 to continue water fluoridation

Concerned residents spoke up during the Tuesday, Feb. 13, regular meeting of the Live Oak City Council to voice their opinions on the ongoing inclusion of fluoride in the city's water supply. The issue initially arose during the council's regular meeting on Nov. 14, 2023, as a request from the public works department to discontinue the fluoridation of the city's drinking water supply. Due to the complexities of the issue and the fact that not all members were present, the council voted to table the matter until more research could be done and until all members were in attendance.
