Bulldogs grapple with glory at wrestling state championship

The Suwannee High School Bulldogs' wrestling team fought for the title of state champions from Thursday, Feb. 29, until Saturday, March 2. Eight Bulldogs found themselves in contention for the famed title in their weight classes. Having the highest number of wrestlers in the Class 1A Individual Wrestling State Championship, all things pointed to a good chance for Suwannee to win.
The tournament began at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29, with the first championship round for all classes. The Bulldogs' first wrestler was Eli Jolicoeur in the 106 lb. weight class. He first faced off against Aaron Spratt from the Villages. Jolicoeur had six
