Lafayette girls’ basketball season ends at districts

On Wednesday, Feb. 7, the Lafayette High School girls' basketball team faced off against the Hilliard Red Flashes in the district semifinals, which were held in Jasper. The Hornets entered a seed above the Red Flashes, and were prepared for their hardest fight of the season. In the first quarter, the Red Flashes jumped out to an early lead, scoring 16 points compared to the Hornets' four. In the second quarter, the Hornets brought their game back, scoring 11 more points.
Freshman Jada Copeland was the standout player for the game, scoring 10 points and singlehandedly contributing a third of the team's final score. Juniors Tristan Campbe
