Fatal Car Accident on I75

Bea Coker reporter2.riverbendnews@gmail.com On Monday, Feb. 5, a male from Hawkinsville, Ga., was pronounced dead following a traffic accident that occurred at 8:55 p.m. in Suwannee County. According to Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on northbound Interstate 75 at mile marker 439, when a Mack dump truck struck the overpass of County Road 136 with its lift box elevated and became lodged under the overpass. The driver of the Mack truck was not injured. However, the Hawkinsville resident's vehicle, a gray Ford Bronco, caught on fire after colliding with the lodged lift box.The Bronco's female passenger was transported to the hospital with serious, non life-threatening injuries, b
