Garden Club celebrates Arbor Day at Hearthstone Gardens

Live Oak Garden Club Contributor Arbor Day is celebrated on the third Friday in January in Florida, and the Live Oak Garden Club marked this occasion by planting a Bald Cypress tree at the Japanese garden in Hearthstone Botanical Gardens in Wellborn. The tree was planted at 11 a.m. to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs to which the club belongs. Most of the over 300 garden clubs that belong to the federation were planting trees on this date exactly at this time.
