On Tuesday, Jan. 16, Suwannee Fire Rescue responded to a call regarding a sound coming from someone's chimney. Engine 1 responded to the call and began inspecting the area. To everyone's surprise, a kitten was found to be stuck inside the chimney. After a daring rescue, both Captain Chip Leathlan and Firefighter Alex Popper made sure the cat got some food and liquids in its body. In another surprising turn of events, the kitten did not belong to the homeowner; well, not for long, at least. In a heartwarming turn of events, the homeowner decided to adopt the kitten, giving it a fur-ever home.
