The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services donated funds to the Hamilton County School District on Tuesday, Dec. 19, which were collected from state forest operations. Fiscally constrained counties, per Florida Statute 589.081, are able to receive 15 percent of the gross receipts from a state forest in proportion to the acreage located in each county. “We are so thankful for this wonderful opportunity given to us,” the Hamilton County School District said in a Facebook post. These funds will benefit students through the improvement of district assets and resources.
