Live Oak Police Department recovers stolen gun

On Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 12:30 a.m., a Live Oak Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a 2007 black Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by O'marion Jones, age 18, of Live Oak, Fla.
During the stop, the officer detected the odor of burnt marijuana. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a 9 millimeter handgun concealed in a black jacket in the front passenger seat.
A background check showed that Jones has a prior felony conviction and is currently on felony probation. Further investigation found that the recovered handgun had been reported stolen in Live Oak on Oct. 19, 2023.
Jones was placed under arrest and transported to the Suwannee County Jail
