Lenora Hawkins retires after two decades of service with LOPD

Lenora Widener Hawkins was born in 1958 in Vero Beach, Fla, and eventually made her way to Live Oak. Throughout her adult life, Hawkins had always worked with government in some way, and she found herself working for the City of Live Oak. However, in 1999, she was approached by former Live Oak Police Chief Nolan McCleod, who offered her a position with the Live Oak Police Department (LOPD). She quickly accepted and made the transfer. There, she stayed for a little over 24 years, serving her community from the administrative side.
