Accident in Alachua leaves Wellborn man dead

Christian Peterson reporter.riverbendnews@gmail.co On Thursday, Dec. 14, an accident in Alachua County left a Wellborn man dead. According to the Florida Highway Patrol report, around 4:45 p.m., a semi-truck driven by a 25- year-old man from Tallahassee and containing a two-year-old passenger was traveling northbound on Interstate 75. When the truck was just past Southwest Archer Road, it struck a pedestrian, later identified as a 50-year-old Wellborn man. The pedestrian was transported to UF Health, where he was pronounced deceased. The crash is still under active investigation.
