Suwannee Elementary students paint pinkies purple to fight polio

In support of the Purple Pinkie Project, students from Suwannee Riverside Elementary and Suwannee Springcrest Elementary had their pinkies painted with purple dye in a display of community spirit. This initiative, aimed at eradicating polio worldwide, is a global effort endorsed by Rotary clubs across the globe.
The Live Oak Rotary Club organized the event in collaboration with the Suwannee High School Interact Club, and students eagerly participated in the unique fundraiser. For just one dollar, students had their pinkies dyed purple in a symbolic gesture representing the purple dye used to mark children who have received the polio vaccin
