Early voting has begun and, according to news reports, the turnout is great!
That is such a fantastic fact, considering how low voter turnout has been in the last several years. According to Forbes.com, the following were the voter turnouts for the past presidential elections:
2000 was 54.2%
2004 was 60.1%
2008 was 61.6%
2012 was 58.0%
2016 was 58.9%
Those are sad, sad percentages. Percentages, such as those, hurt the American democracy system. The voting system is set up so that if everyone would get out and vote, and the voter percentage was near 100%, then we would give the message, to each candidate, and elected official, that WE CARE. We can send the message that we WILL hold each and every one of them, accountable for their choices and decisions.
If you haven’t voted yet, I encourage everyone to go vote.
Voting is our American privilege. Our forefathers fought and died for us to have this right and privilege. Voting gives each one of us a chance to voice our opinion about the candidates seeking office.
There’s not a single one of us that doesn’t blame the government, at some level, for the problems and corruptness in this state/nation … especially during these last several months. Nov. 3 is our chance (YOUR CHANCE) to help make a difference. Let’s get rid of/or not elect those politicians/career politicians that throw/will throw our money away; and let’s get/keep the representatives that care about the “little people.”
Do not sit while others are deciding your future for you. By voting, you are taking responsibility for YOUR state and for YOUR country!
Take pride in your American heritage. GET OUT AND VOTE. It doesn’t matter if you early vote or physically go to the polls – just vote!!!
God Bless America!
