Gavin Barnes advances to golf Regionals

Lee Trawick reporter2.riverbendnews@gmail.com On Monday, Oct. 23, the Branford High School boys golf team traveled to Quail Heights in Lake City to compete for the Class 1A District 3 Championships. Knowing they were the underdogs, the Buccaneers were aware it would take a team effort, and each player would have to bring their A-game to move up two spots. The Bucs entered the tournament as the number five seed out of a field of nine. Only three teams were to advance to Regionals, and while they approached the game with the philosophy of playing their best and accepting the results, the Branford boys remained hopeful that they would be one of them.
