Lafayette Hornets show grit in district volleyball tournament

Lee Trawick reporter2.riverbendnews@gmail.com As the Lafayette High School varsity volleyball team began the week leading up to the Class 1A District Championships, they knew they were facing an uphill battle to stay in the game. Despite their 11-6 record in the regular season, the Hornets were ranked lower than the Branford Buccaneers, Bell Bulldogs and Union County Tigers in the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) state rankings. They were well aware of the challenging obstacles that lay ahead of them.
