Ryleigh Hermanson shatters cross country record

Lee Trawick reporter2.riverbendnews@gmail.com Ryleigh Hermanson, a member of Suwannee High School's (SHS) cross country team, is the current Riverbend News Cross Country runner of the Year. During a home match at Heritage Park on Saturday, Sept. 23, Hermanson broke the school record in the 5k event, which she had set in the previous year's Regional Championships. Hermanson's previous school record for the 5k event was 20 minutes and 50 seconds, but she was able to complete the distance in just 20 minutes and 46 seconds this time. This means, on average, Hermanson ran 6.82-minute miles throughout the 5k event, which spans 3.1 miles. Coach Amy Bullock was proud of Hermanson's accomplishmen
