On Monday, Oct. 16, workplaces around the world celebrate Boss' Day. The holiday was initially started by Patricia Bays Haroski in 1958. She worked for her father at a State Farm Insurance company and chose Oct. 16, because it was her father's birthday. Since then, the holiday has taken hold across the United States.
The goal of the day is to help improve the relationship between employees and their supervisors by helping employees show appreciation for the work that their bosses do. In fact, Haroski believed young employees don't understand the hard work that goes into the position of a supervisor. She wanted to help improve all those
