Branford Town Council discusses hurricane preparedness

Hurricane preparedness was the main topic of the Branford Town Council's regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 12. The subject was brought up by Councilwoman Stacey Griffith, who commended the public works department, the community and a majority of the council for their response following the disaster, but condemned a “lack of leadership shown by the council president” with communicating and preparing for such an event.
“We were blindsided with this,” Griffith said. “We had an emergency meeting to put the State of Emergency in, but then we were left clueless as to what [to do] next.” She went on to state she didn't know the county
