Jasper City Council approves purchase of chlorine monitors

On Thursday, Sept. 21, the Jasper City Council met for its regularly scheduled meeting. The meeting began with the first reading of the new city park ordinance, which had been drafted in an effort to clarify rules regarding activity in city parks after multiple complaints from citizens and even council members regarding activity in the park. The council then elected to set a special called meeting for Monday, Oct. 2, at 6 p.m. to discuss both the city manager and the city clerk applications. The final item brought by City Attorney Rhett Bullard was the annexation of a property near 16th Avenue. Bullard explained to the council that the gentlem
