A Live Oak resident was honored for her 17 years of volunteering during the Team SunFest volunteer award reception in August at Palm Beach Gardens. Four volunteers received the elite distinction of SunFest 2023 President’s Pinnacle Award for outstanding volunteer service during the 39th annual waterfront music festival. Nominations were submitted by the SunFest president, previous award winners, staff and SunFest committee representatives and were presented by Marshall Osofsky, SunFest 2023 President.
“This prestigious award recognizes volunteers who have exhibited exceptional dedication to the event and who have contributed to its success in ways above and beyond what was expected of them,” said Osofsky. “SunFest has over 2,100 volunteers that give their time and experience to help make the festival enjoyable for the community. This past SunFest, we had over 1,018 first time volunteers and all of our volunteers worked a cumulative 20,000 hours. We couldn’t produce the festival without them.”
Among this year's recipients of the SunFest President's Pinnacle Award was Linda Banaszek, of Live Oak, who serves as the Committee Chair of Transportation. Banaszek has been volunteering for over 17 years and is retired from the Palm Beach County School District.
