On Sunday, Sept. 3, Live Oak Nutrition's employees decided to give back to those working hard on the power lines around Suwannee County. Power companies from across the state have been working nonstop since Hurricane Idalia hit to restore electricity in homes. Day in and day out they have been putting up poles, cutting down trees and reattaching power lines. This is a daunting task in the summer heat, which is why Live Oak Nutrition came to provide some much needed relief.
Live Oak Nutrition's employees traveled around the county visiting lineman active on the job. They stopped and made all the linemen a drink to help beat the summer heat while they worked. This clearly overjoyed the workers as they smiled and took a breather from their hard and dangerous job. The Live Oak Nutrition employees were clearly happy to give back to these hard working men. “It was such a fun experience,” said Alexa Duarte, Live Oak Nutrition employee. “We rode all around Live Oak looking around for linemen to give back to. We met crews from different states and told them thank you for all their help, and they were very grateful for the drinks, as it was very hot outside. It was just so nice to give back to them as they were helping our small community.”
