The Suwannee High School Bulldogs improved their season record to 4-2 with a dominating 47-0 win over the Panthers of Palatka High School, on Friday, Oct. 9, in Palatka.
The Bulldogs went out to an early 7-0 lead when Camdon Frier caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Jaquez Moore. Braxtyn Green's point-after-touchdown (PAT) was good and the score was 7-0, early in the contest. The Bulldogs added to their first-quarter score when Jeremy Wallace punched the ball over the goal line from two yards out. Another Green PAT made the score 14-0 as the first quarter drew to a close.
The Bulldogs found the end-zone again early in the second quarter when Moore ran in another touchdown from two-yards out. Another PAT put the score at 21-0, with the Bulldogs firmly in control. The Bulldogs added to their lead when Moore sprinted 54 yards to pay dirt. Green's PAT gave the Bulldogs a 28-0 lead. Moments later, Green added three points with a 27-yard field goal, bringing the score to 31-0. The Bulldogs' second quarter scoring frenzy finished with a 50-yard pitch and catch from Moore to Wesley Jones. Green's PAT gave the Bulldogs a comfortable 38-0 lead going into intermission.
The final two quarters ran quickly with a continuously running game clock. The Bulldogs scored a safety, adding two more points to the Bulldogs' total. The Bulldogs scored one final touchdown in the third quarter, when Malachi Graham hit Javarion Smith from 23-yards out. Green's PAT put the final score at 47-0.
Moore led the Bulldogs in passing with 153 yards on nine completions out of 20 attempts. Moore also led the Bulldogs ground attack with 96 yards on five rushing attempts, with two rushing touchdowns.
Next, the Bulldogs will host the War Eagles of Wakulla High School. The War Eagles (4-0) are coming off a 29-0 shut-out of the Tigers of Jefferson Somerset Academy, from Monticello. The game is set for Friday, Oct. 16. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
